1 Reviews on “Télendos”
Telendos is a charming anchorage with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the quaint village of Melitsachas on Kalymnos. However, anchoring here can be a bit tricky due to the combination of sand patches and dense seaweed. Finding a sandy spot can take some patience, especially when the anchorage is busy. Once secured, the holding in the sand is generally reliable, but it’s important to be cautious of submerged cables and concrete blocks near the southern quay.
The anchorage offers a peaceful setting with minimal ferry traffic, which keeps the area relatively quiet. Depths range from 3 to 9 meters, and it’s best to anchor in 5-9 meters with plenty of chain if you want extra security. The surrounding scenery is stunning, and there’s a hiking trail around Telendos.
