1 Reviews on “Majors Bay”
I anchored at Majors Bay and it’s a peaceful spot for a stopover. The holding here was solid, which gave me peace of mind overnight, especially with the sandy bottom. The bay is fairly open, so if the winds pick up from the east, things can get a bit choppy, but on calm days it’s fine.
There’s not much in terms of facilities, so it’s essential to be self-sufficient. Water is clear and beautiful, which makes it tempting for a swim off the boat, and the beaches nearby are quite untouched. Access to shore is straightforward, though there isn’t a proper dinghy dock – I just pulled up onto the beach.
Majors Bay doesn’t see heavy boat traffic, which adds to the calm, but it can feel a bit isolated if you’re looking for more action or amenities.
