This beach is the widest and best-equipped along this stretch of coast. Gravelly and fairly shielded by a gulf, it’s only exposed to northern winds and is bounded by Punta Falconaia. There’s a city bus service connecting the location to Portoferraio.

The seabed here is mostly covered with seagrass, which can make anchoring a bit challenging, especially with strong winds. There are a couple of mooring buoys, but they are often taken up by local sailing schools, which might limit your options. On a calm day, it’s a beautiful place to drop anchor and enjoy the view. However, if the wind picks up, especially from the north, the bay isn’t very sheltered, and you might find yourself exposed to uncomfortable conditions.

The Piazza, brimming with churches, shops, a restaurant, and a bar, offers central parking. Despite being a bustling thoroughfare, it hosts a bus stop. One of its buildings features walls adorned with contemporary frescoes.
