1 Reviews on “Cala dei Frati”
Bottom’s mostly sand there, but watch for patches of rock that’ll foul your anchor. This morning’s swim showed me why this spot’s popular – crystal water and those white granite rocks. No facilities here, but Portoferraio’s just a 10-minute motor away. Stopped at Nautica Pacini there for some spare filters. Smart to stock up before heading over since you’re on your own in the cala. Gets pretty packed with small boats between 11 and 4, but early mornings are peaceful. A few local guys were spearfishing at dawn – interesting to see them work around the rocks. Found some decent shelter from westerly winds tucked in closer to the beach. Had to move though when the afternoon northerly picked up. Phone signal’s steady.
