1 – Blue.Press cannot be held responsible of any contribution to the directory or the third party weather and tide services integrated, so Blue.Press can’t serve as navigation aid, it’s only for informational purposes. Therefore we are not liable for any damages resulting from the use of the information.

2 – As a shared platform, your contributions could be overwritten in the future. If you are concerned about your texts always keep a copy.



Registration

Profile Data

When you register for the site, you may be asked to provide certain personal data for display on your profile. The “Name” field is required as well as public, and user profiles are visible to any site visitor. Other profile information may be required or optional, as configured by the site administrator.

User information provided during account registration can be modified or removed on the Profile > Edit panel. In most cases, users also have control over who is able to view a particular piece of profile content, limiting visibility on a field-by-field basis to friends, logged-in users, or administrators only. Site administrators can read and edit all profile data for all users.

Registration cookies

We use a cookie to show success and failure messages to logged-in users, in response to certain actions, like joining a group. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted immediately after the next page load.

We use cookies on group, member, and activity directories to keep track of a user’s browsing preferences. These preferences include the last-selected values of the sort and filter dropdowns, as well as pagination information. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted after 24 hours.

When a logged-in user creates a new group, we use a number of cookies to keep track of the group creation process. These cookies contain no personal data, and are deleted either upon the successful creation of the group or after 24 hours.

Blue.Press is built upon the free and open source WordPress CMS.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

CMS cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


Anti-Spam service

We collect information about visitors who comment using Akismet anti-spam service. The information collected by Akismet includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL, along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself.


Contributions

We collect information about you during the add listing process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, IP address, email address, locations details including GPS co-ordinates and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of adding your listings.

Handling this data also allows us to:

1 – Display this information in a public facing manner (such as a web page or API request) and allow website users to search and view submitted listing information.

2 – Send you important account/service information.

3 – Notify you of user interactions such as but not limited to reviews and comments

4 – Respond to your queries or complaints.

5 – Set up and administer your account, provide technical and/or customer support, spam prevention and to verify that you’re not a robot seagull. We do this on the basis of our legitimate quality control.

Reviews

We also collect information about you during the leave a review process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, IP address, website url, image(s), review ratings and review texts.

Page editing

We collect information about you during the page editing process on our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of verifying you are a legitimate contributor.

Handling this data also allows us to:

1 – Verify that you are a legitimate contributor.

2 – Make you the author of the listing which can make your name and avatar visible to the public.

3 – Contact you to inform you if your claim has been approved or rejected.
