Symi is a gem! Docking involves stern-to with a buoy at the bow, so get ready for a bit of manoeuvring. The village is adorable, and the views from the top are breathtaking.
We enjoyed Symi’s stunning views and charming village, despite the challenges with the new buoy system. Docking was a bit tricky, especially with crosswinds, and the harbor can be chaotic and noisy with ferries and tourists. However, the local food was delicious and the town’s atmosphere made it worth the trouble.
Symi is a charming little village that’s a must-visit if you’re nearby. The mooring is safe with buoy and mooring assistance, though the harbor can get noisy, especially on Saturday nights. For a 14-meter catamaran, we paid around 10 Euros for mooring, plus fees for electricity and water. If you’re looking to rent a scooter, Michalis at Lakis Travel is highly recommended for his excellent service.
