1 Reviews on “Marathounta's Bay”
The bay is quite deep, with a depth of around 20 meters at the entrance, but anchoring in the northwest corner where the depth is more manageable (around 15 meters) is recommended. The seabed is sandy, providing a good hold for anchors, though some caution is needed as the rocks can be quite sharp. Securing lines to the shore is advised to ensure stability, especially in windy conditions.
The bay is well-protected from most wind directions, making it a reliable spot for a peaceful stay. While the anchorage is relatively isolated with only a few boats usually present, you might encounter excursion boats, so it’s wise to avoid the small pier used by these boats.
