Beautiful anchorage next to an old Venetian castle dating to the 1200s.

I anchored here on a calm, sunny day, and the sandy sea floor gripped my anchor with no fuss.

As the sun began to set, the bay transformed into a tranquil haven. One evening, I took a stroll through the quaint streets of Methoni and stumbled upon a small, family-run taverna. The meal was delicious, but what made it unforgettable was the warmth of the locals. They greeted us like old friends, and we left with a bottle of homemade olive oil as a parting gift.

The Venetian fortress towering over the bay was a highlight—its history and architecture are captivating. Exploring the fortress felt like stepping back in time, and the views from the top were simply breathtaking.

  • Nice anchorage. Very wild, just a deserted beach and a few cows. A villa throne on the western bay.
