You anchor on the other side of port and lines on the dock.. when there is north wind be carefoul becuase of the swell.. not so much direct waves but the sea is pushing from islands to Crete and the mass of water creates a drop and rise of sea in port at 3 sec intervals.. can be violent.. otherwise safe from all other sides even if there is wind…

Welcome to Greece where the sea has been a lifeline for millennian. Head over to the main Greece sailing guide to know more. The myth of the Sirens who lured sailors with their enchanting songs adds a touch of mystery to these waters, and reminds of the legends that permeate Greek maritime culture. Find the legendary shipwreck of the Antikythera Mechanism, discovered by sponge divers in 1900. Or start strolling through bustling markets brimming with fresh olives, ripe tomatoes, and tangy feta cheese, add a local wine and you have the makings of a memorable moment as the sun dips below the horizon.
